meter, metr – measure

1.    Barometer – an instrument that is used to measure air pressure and predict changes in the weather.

2.    Diameter – the distance through the center of a circle or sphere from one side to the other.

3.    Optometry – the profession of examining people’s eyes to find out if they need eyeglasses or medical treatment.

4.    Perimeter – the outside edge of an area or surface; the total length of the lines that form a shape.

5.    Symmetry – the quality of something that has two sides or halves that are the same or very close in size, shape, and position.

6.    Precaution – something that is done to prevent possible harm or trouble from happening in the future.
