Classroom Activities

Monday

  • First Read “Craig Kielburger Reflects on Working Toward Peace,” pp. 497–501 (students absent can find the text in the online HMH textbook – look in assignments and complete the reading task)

Tuesday – students absent can use the online HMH textbook and under assignments complete the following: Author’s Purpose (two assignments), Reading assignments, Close Read Screencast, and Analyzing the Text questions 1-4 and 6.

  • Bellringer: Explain your Vocabulary page 504
  • Second Read “Craig Kielburger Reflects on Working Toward Peace,” pp. 497–501
  • Complete all annotations in the margins.
  • Complete the assessment questions on page 501.

Wednesday

  • Bellringer: Watch Your Language: commas, page 505 
  • Analyzing the text questions in small groups (20 minutes) 
  • DEAR time (20 minutes)

Thursday/Friday – TALLAHASSEE FIELD TRIP!

Students not attending will report to Mrs. Omes’ classroom.
