Holiday Shop

We are proud to announce that we have chosen Kids’ Korner Gift Shoppes for our Children’s Holiday Gift Store this year.  The Kids’ Korner Gift Shoppes will give your children the opportunity to shop for high quality gifts for friends and family in the secure atmosphere of our school.  The Kids’ Korner Gift Shoppe program provides our children with the opportunity to make real life shopping decisions…plus they learn that giving is as important as receiving.

Gift items start at less than $1.00 and go up to $15.  It will start December 12th and end December 16th.  Students will have browse days with their class and then another day for shopping.

Works in Progress

Come see the 2016/2017 Illumination Dance Team in their debut performance of the year, “Works in Progress,” November 30th at 6:30pm. They will perform all of their new competition routines. Special guests from local dance programs and studios will also perform! Tickets will be sold at the Middle School Lobby November 28th-30th for $5.00.

Hurricane Makeup Days

Volusia County Schools received approval from the Florida Department of Education for a waiver of three of the five hurricane make up days that are required due to school closings during Hurricanes Hermine (1 day) and Matthew (4 days). State law allows school districts to waive up to three days with state approval, if certain criteria are met.

A waiver does not equal forgiveness, but rather allows the lost time to be made up by hours/minutes instead of full days (state law requires students to have a minimum of 900 hours of instructional time).  For Volusia, that means five early release days will revert to regular days: November 9, 16 and 30 and December 7 and 14.  For the two remaining days, one day was made up on Friday, October 21, and the final day will be made up on Monday, February 20.
