Hello Ivy Hawn Husky Students and Parents,
My name is Brittnee Hubbard and I am the Elementary STEAM Teacher at Ivy Hawn Charter School of the Arts. A little background about me, I have taught at Ivy Hawn for 10 years and have loved every minute. The different teaching positions I have been in are: 5th grade teacher, 6th grade teacher and Middle/Elementary STEM teacher. I look forward to working and teaching alongside your students this year.
You may ask what is STEAM? Well it is a combination of the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. These areas are combined and taught all at the same time in order to provide opportunities for students to use these skills to solve real world problems. Students enjoy the hands-on experience of learning through challenges that prepare them for our constantly changing future. Whether it is working cooperatively to design, build and test a solar oven for best efficiency, to designing and testing independent experiments to better understand the phenomenon of ‘LifeSaver’ candies, our Husky’s are always hard at work!
