This week we will be studying water and water conservation.
Monday 9/26: How is water important in your life?
Tuesday 9/27: Do you like to swim and if so, do you prefer to swim at the beach or in the pool?
Wednesday9/28: What do you think the USDA is responsible for?
Thursday 9/29 or Friday 9/30: If you could be any fruit, what would you be and why?
Monday: Use the book (Chapter 12 starting page 229) to identify the following key terms:
environment, natural resources, renewable resources, carcinogen, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), hydrological cycle, aquifers, point source, nonpoint sources, wetlands
Tuesday: Read the article and answer the questions.
Wednesday: PowerPoint & complete one of the following assignments and turn in by the beginning of class on 9/30:
Choice 1: 3 paragraph persuasive essay detailing how you are going to convince people to conserve water. Your essay should detail water conservation efforts at home and in the community (school, work, etc…). What would this mean for people, their community, their world, their future. Legibility and spelling count.
Choice 2: Poster – create a poster that supports water conservation. This should be a poster that is COLORFUL. You do not have to present your poster.
Choice 3: A presentation – this can be a written presentation that you would like to give in front of the class. Your oral presentation should be well thought out, should detail WHY people should be invested in conserving water, HOW they can go about conserving water, and WHAT benefits they would get from conserving water in the future. Your presentation should be at least 2 minutes.
All of these are due by Friday (9/30) at the end of class. If you are doing a presentation, please be prepared to give your presentation on Monday 10/3 at the beginning of class.
Friday: Continue working on assignments.
