Online Learning Schedule for Week 7

Week of: Monday May 11 to Friday May 15

Please complete the following tasks by Sunday May 17rd.  All tasks below will be graded.

 

  1. Grammar Review: Homophones TWO 

Complete the homophones worksheets and submit answers in Edmodo.  These are commonly misused words that you need to know and use correctly before 7th grade!

 

  1. iReady: Complete 30-45 minutes and at least ONE quiz.

 

    1. Descriptive Writing Paragraphs

     

    • Choose 2 of the following on this list and write a vivid descriptive paragraph for each making your reader imagine themselves there.
    • Each paragraph must be AT LEAST 5-7 sentence paragraphs.  (40 points)
    • Each paragraph must have AT LEAST 3 strong verbs, 3 adjectives and 3 adverbs. (60 points)
    • Total 100 points…submit directly into Edmodo or attach to a word document.

     

    Topics to your descriptive paragraph about (remember choose 2): 

     

    • Favorite room in your house
    • Favorite keepsake/toy
    • A video game setting
    • A favorite video game/book character
    • Your best friend or a family member
    • Your favorite vacation spot (beach, mountains, lake, etc.)
    • Favorite activity (dance, baseball, soccer, fishing, etc.)
    • Look out a window in your house…what do you see?
    • Your own choice (just make sure it is a SPECIFIC thing. For example, do not describe Disney world and just list rides)

     

    –REMEMBER TO SHOW your reader.  Do not just TELL them.  Bring your reader into your mind’s eye through using all of the five senses:  sight, smell, touch, feeling, sound. —

     

    This is the final week of assignments.  The week of May 18-May 22 will be for the iReady diagnostic, make-up work and remediation!  Please call, remind, or e-mail if you have ANY questions at all!
