Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

ELA Learning Target: Reading-Using anchor charts, students will read grade level appropriate informational and literature text while formulating questions as they read. They will answer questions by finding text evidence to support their answers.

Writing Target: Students will use proper conventions in their daily journal writings. They will use color coding to identify the different parts of a paragraph.

Social Studies Learning Target: Providing students with various resources, students will be able to understand the difference between rights and responsibilities as citizens of our community.

Classroom Activities

ELA: Students will reinforce skills in centers and small group rotations following whole group instruction.

Social Studies: We will create a T-chart whole group discussing rights and responsibilities. Students will read text about what the differences between rights and responsibilities are.
