ELA: *Reading grade level appropriate text, students will build upon their fluency and answer questions by going back into the text to find evidence as proof of their answers.

Social Studies: Students will learn about different types of communities (rural, urban, suburban) and their roles and responsibilities as citizens in their community.

Classroom Activities

ELA: Students will take the iReady Diagnostic 1.
Students will view a powerpoint and take notes/practice going back into the text to find text evidence as proof for their
answers.
Students will independently read nonfiction passages and underline the text evidence for each question.

Social Studies: Students will read text about citizens and their role in communities and highlight important points. They will answer questions and go back in the text to find text evidence to support their answers.
