Learning Targets and Learning Criteria

ELA learning target: Reading- Using anchor charts and visual instruction, students will review the concepts of author’s perspective and text structure (chronology, cause and effect, compare and contrast)

Social Studies Target: Students will compare globes and maps and discuss the advantages & disadvantages of both.

Classroom Activities

*Students will view a powerpoint about author’s perspective and text structure that provides them with opportunities on identifying the author’s/character’s perspective in a text and the structure that the author organizes a text in
*Students will work in small groups in various centers to practice the skills of author’s perspective and text structure
*Students will continue to learn about maps and globes and continuing creating a lapbook about them.
