Q3W10: Week of 3/6-3/10, 2022

ELA.3.R.1.3: Explain different characters’ perspectives in a literary text.
ELA.3.R.2.1: Explain how text features contribute to meaning and identify the text structures
of chronology, comparison, and cause/effect in texts
SS.3.G.1.5 Compare maps and globes to develop an understanding of the concept of distortion

ELA learning target: Reading- Using anchor charts and visual instruction, students will review the concepts of author’s perspective and text structure (chronology, cause and effect, compare and contrast)

Social Studies Target: Students will compare globes and maps and discuss the advantages & disadvantages of both.

*Students will view a powerpoint about author’s perspective and text structure that provides them with opportunities on identifying the author’s/character’s perspective in a text and the structure that the author organizes a text in
*Students will work in small groups in various centers to practice the skills of author’s perspective and text structure
*Students will continue to learn about maps and globes and continuing creating a lapbook about them.

*Reading comprehension assessment: Thursday 3/10
*Spring Break: 3/11-3/20
